Social Sciences and Humanities Futures

SSH-FUTURES studies the opportunities for complementary development and closer coupling of social sciences and humanities (SSH) in Europe and their mutual interactions with social demands. The value of this approach is to provide information for improving research policies targeted at the SSH in Europe. In order to get a better understanding of the potential of the SSH, the project will start by looking at the ways in which the social sciences and the humanities can and do have an impact on societies, their political institutions and economies. This will be based on the hypothesis that the impact pathways differ clearly from those of the natural and technical sciences.
